Boat Dives
“The Rays…WOW! What a dive!”
Just a small selection of our most popular boat dives…
Roncadores Del Faro
Levels: All.
Depth: 6-25m.
Distance from dive centre: 15mins by boat.
Situated near a lighthouse, this dive site is named Ronacadores after the Grunt fish found here (Grunt meaning Roncadores in Spanish). We descend into 6 metres of water, drop off a ledge to 15 metres and pass through a swim through to be greeted by a large school of Grunts. Following the rocky walls we then enter a chimney style swim through into 6 metres of water. We either swim back to the anchor or put up our SMB’s if drifting.
Neptune’s Cave
Level: Open Water advanced +
Depth: 7-25m.
Distance from dive centre: 10mins by boat.
From the boat we drop into 7 metres of water and swim around a pinnacle. Here we enter a chimney style swim through that is home to Rays. Cardinal Fish and Glass Eyes. We then follow the rocky wall, ascend to 5 metres and deploy SMB’s at the end.
El Condesito
Level: Open Water +
Depth: 10-25m.
Distance from dive centre: 15mins from boat.
This ship sank some 30 years ago after running into the rocky coast by Punta Rasca. At the time it was carrying bags of cement which can still be seen today. The bow of the ship has now collapsed but is home to a wide variety of sea life including a very large Puffer fish! We do not advise entry into any part of the vessel due to its poor condition. We also visit a nearby area that is host to Moray Eels.
Palm Mar Cave
Level: Advanced Open Water +
Depth: 15-30m+
Distance from the dive centre: 20mins by boat.
At this dive site we descend into 15 metres of water and we approach a shelf that drops down to 30 metres. At this point we drop down to statue of the Virgin Carmen and continue towards the cave. We do not enter the cave but in the walls surrounding it we will find Tiger Morays and Octopus, also Rays and Angel Sharks frequent here. We then follow a rough wall to a large crack, which is home to several Moray Eels.
